Kim here with our latest Detail of the Month post. I'm so excited to share this one. If you've followed us at all on social media in the last 4-5 months, then you've seen this vehicle on our feed in the background at some point. And if you're a regular client, you've definitely seen this vehicle in the SD studio. You all know we've worked on a lot of Lamborghinis, but this one is particularly special and one of Karim's favorite Lamborghinis. And that is why it's our August/September feature.
This Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce is one of only 600 produced, making it one of the rarest models from the manufacturer. With a naturally aspirated V12 engine matched with the lowest weight/highest performance possible, it's truly the most impressive Lamborghini we've ever had in the studio.
The vehicle came to us from Jacksonville where it had recently been repainted. We use our tried and trusted transport company to transport the vehicle from Jacksonville to our shop in downtown Orlando.
Here's what we did:
I provide a lot of high-resolution photos for this post. Enjoy the write-up and photos here.
The detail work on the Aventador is extensive to fully prepare for Paint Protection Film (PPF) application. Steve performs most of the prep work for this project, with Gui assisting in some areas like the Interior Detail.
Steve performs multiple washes throughout the entire process. The first was, shown here, is the decontamination wash that totally prepares the vehicle for the machine polish/correction work.
Although the paint is new and finished down, it still requires professional polish work to bring it to SD standards before PPF or coating application. Steve performs the 2-stage correction work on the Aventador. Shown below, he performs the final polish with a rotary for ultimate gloss and clarity. This work is performed carefully over multiple days. As our clients know, we never rush paint work perfection.
The interior came to us in decent shape, but the leather and Alcantara upholstery was in need of a proper, high-end detail. This work was not on the original commission, but we really wanted to refresh the interior for a complete detail package upon delivery to the client. Here's a before and after of the carbon tub.
Our interior detail includes a full steam clean with leather and Alcantara conditioning. We use SwissVax professional car care products to clean, rejuvenate, and protect. See photos below of this stunning interior, now fully clean and like new for the client.
Exotic interior detailing ("tweaking", as we like to call it here) is one of my passions. Steve has trained me on the SD way of exotic interior detailing. It's something that helped put Superior Detailer on the map during the mobile detailing days of the late 2000s. It's truly a special and satisfying feeling to properly detail the interior of a vehicle like this.
We believe a vehicle like this should be fully protected with PPF. PPF protects all exterior paintwork from scratches, rock chips, sun damage, etc. I was so excited to get right to work on it.
We have a fair amount of matte carbon pieces on the vehicle, which we wrap with Xpel Stealth PPF. The remaining glossy areas are wrapped with Xpel Ultimate Plus PPF. Steve and I tag-team the PPF application over the course of about a week.
An important part of the process is the badge removal and disassembly, which we perform for a more seamless look. For this vehicle we remove the hood emblem, mirrors, gas cap, and inner rear fender caps. We do rely on a professional technician to remove the mirrors. The four photos below show some of this work.
We both really enjoy the PPF application, and we do take our time with it. I install the matte pieces, engine cover, spoiler, rear bumper, and small front bumper pieces, while Steve handles most of the larger pieces. We install the custom roof piece together.
We've done full body PPF installations on this particular Lamborghini body several times, so we are both quite familiar with how everything fits. It makes this install super fun.
The photos below show some of our installation process.
The vehicle arrived with yellow vinyl striping installed on the rear diffuser. However, one piece was damaged. So, we source new vinyl to replace the damaged diffuser piece. I install the reflective vinyl striping on the rear diffuser, mirrors, and front bumper. It really changes the whole look of the vehicle. What do you think?
We also install new badges sourced by the client and sent to our shop. See the photos below.
The Modesta coating is the last step. We choose Modesta BC-05 body coating for this vehicle because of the "candy-like" gloss it provides and the water-repelling effects. The Modesta BC-05 coating enhances the polish work and the true color of this Aventador.

Steve also applies Modesta BC-06 to the wheels, which provides protection, enhances the finish, and makes the wheels much easier to clean.
Steve and Gui install the Modesta BC-05 coating together.
This Aventador is finally gone. And while we loved having it in the shop, it was nice to see it on the trailer and off to its owner. We know that this level of PPF and Modesta coating protection will outlive the current ownership. As always, I hope you enjoyed this work as much as we do. Here are some final "hot shots" (as Steve calls them) of the car complete.
